Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a good start, with openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz putting on a 194-run partnership. Shanto scored a century (112), while Miraz retired hurt on 119.

Bangladesh lost a few wickets in the middle overs, but captain Shakib Al Hasan (50) and Mushfiqur Rahim (42) helped them to post a total of 335/7 in their 50 overs.

Bangladesh's bowling was excellent, with Taskin Ahmed (3/39) and Shoriful Islam (3/42) being the pick of the bowlers. Shakib Al Hasan also chipped in with two wickets.
