The Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023 kicked off with a blockbuster clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 15. India won the toss and elected to bat first.

The Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul got off to a solid start, putting on a 50-run partnership. However, Rohit was dismissed for 56 shortly after reaching the milestone. Rahul continued to bat positively and was eventually joined by Virat Kohli in the middle.

Kohli and Rahul put on a magnificent 150-run partnership for the second wicket, taking India to a position of strength. Rahul was eventually dismissed for 111, but Kohli continued to bat on and scored a brilliant century, finishing on 122 not out.

India declared their innings at 356/2, their highest total in Asia Cup history.

Pakistan got off to a poor start in their chase, losing both openers Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam early. They were eventually bowled out for 128 runs, losing by a huge margin of 228 runs.
